Xi Control is a lightweight system tray utility for Xiaomi and Redmi (Redmibook) laptops, developed by Oksion and categorized as a hardware management and laptop tuning tool. Built primarily for the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 (2026) but not limited to that model, it provides control over battery care, performance profiles, and input customization through the firmware's stock WMI interface (MIFS), meaning it operates driver-free without relying on WinRing0 or any third-party drivers. Its battery care feature applies a configurable charge limit with automatic re-arm after sleep, helping users extend battery longevity. The utility also exposes five performance modes, including the otherwise hidden Eco mode, allowing users to balance performance and power consumption. Display and input-related functionality includes OSD overlays for on-screen feedback, Mi button gesture support, and fixes for special keys such as Fn-Lock OSD, microphone mute, and keyboard backlight levels. An additional owl mode keeps the system awake while the lid is closed on AC power, which is useful for desk setups with an external monitor or for keeping background tasks running. Typical use cases include capping battery charge for laptops kept mostly on AC power, switching quickly between performance profiles from the tray, restoring proper behavior of special function keys, and configuring the dedicated Mi button for custom actions. Because elevated access is a firmware WMI requirement, the application requires administrator rights and elevates itself via UAC on launch. Xi Control is currently at version 0.13.0, with ten versions released in total, reflecting active ongoing development of the utility.
